About the Role

This is a key senior leadership role, working closely with the Director of Finance and wider executive team to ensure financial sustainability, support strategic growth, and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting.
  • Support organisational decision-making through high-quality analysis and forecasting.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning, statutory accounts, and audit processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, controls, and processes.
  • Provide commercial and financial support across operations, including contracts and funding.
  • Play a key role in managing financial risk, cash flow, and long-term sustainability.
  • Contribute as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to strategic planning and delivery.

Qualifications

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (CA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).

Required Skills

  • Strong post-qualified experience, ideally within a complex or regulated environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing finance teams.
  • Expertise in financial planning, reporting, and governance.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior level.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset aligned with a collaborative, purpose-led culture.
  • Experience in an environment with exposure to local authority or government commercial contract awards.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the charity, public, or social care sector would be advantageous but is not essential.

Pay range and compensation package
