Eden Scott Accountancy & Finance Division are delighted to be supporting a well-established not-for-profit in Glasgow who are seeking a Finance Manager to lead their finance function. This is a pivotal role offering variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a meaningful impact across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small finance team, driving continuous improvement across finance and grants
- Oversee month-end, year-end, and statutory reporting, including audit and tax compliance
- Deliver timely and insightful management reporting, forecasts, and budget analysis
- Manage payroll, cash flow, treasury, and VAT returns
- Maintain and enhance financial controls, systems, and procedures
- Support budget holders and non-finance teams with financial training and guidance
- Lead the grants programme, including payments, reporting, and impact analysis
- Deputise for the Director of Finance & Corporate Services and contribute to strategic planning
About You
- Experience either within a similar role, or perhaps looking for your first step into a Finance Manager role
- Have touched on management duties in previous role
- Strong technical expertise in financial and management accounting, audit, and controls
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and influence at all levels
- Commercially astute, detail-oriented, and adaptable to change
- Advanced Excel and financial systems experience (Sage 50 knowledge desirable)
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector and understanding of VAT legislation is a plus
