Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Transformation Programme Manager to lead and govern complex transformation initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role requires an individual who has independently led end-to-end transformation programmes, managing multiple workstreams across operations, supply chain, commercial and organisational change, rather than operating within a single functional domain (e.g. HR or IT). You will act as a senior external programme lead, driving transformation from strategy through to execution, while engaging closely with executive stakeholders and steering committees. The critical distinction is this: they are looking for an external programme manager who has independently governed complex, multi-workstream transformation programmes, reporting to a steering committee or client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale business transformation programmes, spanning operational, supply chain, commercial and structural workstreams
- Establish and manage programme governance, including reporting into steering committees and executive sponsors
- Drive cross-functional alignment, ensuring consistency and momentum across multiple transformation pillars
- Identify and manage interdependencies, risks and delivery blockers, ensuring timely escalation and resolution
- Oversee change management and business readiness, ensuring successful adoption across all impacted areas
- Develop and execute programme communication strategies, aligned to senior stakeholder and operational needs
- Track and report progress against benefits, milestones, and transformation KPIs
- Build strong relationships across senior leadership teams to influence decision-making and secure buy-in
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an external Programme Manager leading complex, multi-workstream business transformation programmes
- Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end transformation delivery, not limited to a single function (e.g. HR, IT, Finance)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing environments, including operations, supply chain, and commercial drivers
- Experience governing programmes at SteerCo / executive level, including reporting and stakeholder management
- Ability to operate across strategic and delivery layers, from shaping direction to driving execution
- Track record of delivering transformation in complex, ambiguous environments
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, chemicals, or industrial sectors
- Background in operational or supply chain transformation programmes
- Exposure to cost transformation, network optimisation, or organisational restructuring
Summary
This role is best suited to a senior transformation programme leader who combines strong governance and stakeholder leadership.
