FP&A Analyst
12m FTC
Edinburgh, hybrid, full-time
Eden Scott are delighted to be working with a Global business in their search to appoint an FP&A Analyst on a full-time 12m FTC (hybrid) basis from either their Glasgow or Edinburgh locations.
This organisation has been a market leader in its niche for over 15 years, known for sustained growth and a strong industry reputation. In this role, reporting to the FP&A Lead, you\’ll join the Financial Planning & Analysis team and work closely with colleagues across business analysis, engineering, data, and finance. Your focus will be on enhancing financial performance by driving deeper insight into profitability and supporting strategic financial planning through impactful, value-driven analysis.
What will you be doing?
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly business review analysis
- Track and explain budget variances; work with Finance Business Partners to manage costs and identify opportunities
- Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to assess financial health
- Support quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-term strategic planning
- Enhance forecasting and budgeting efficiency through improved analytical tools
- Develop and maintain financial models for planning and strategic decision-making
- Conduct scenario and \’what-if\’ modelling across integrated financial statements
- Deliver variance analysis with actionable insights and visual representations
- Perform detailed financial analysis to support central initiatives and decision-making
- Identify performance issues and propose data-driven solutions
- Support vertical P&L and segmental analysis (e.g. regional, market-level reviews)
- Build dashboards to track market-level performance
- Analyse pricing strategies for existing and new products/tier offerings
To be successful in this role, the following experience is required:
- Demonstrated experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, corporate finance, or a related discipline
- Bachelor\’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analysis, or a comparable field
- Expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and data-driven analysis
- Proficient in advanced Excel functions and experienced with financial software and ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
- Hands-on experience with Tableau for data visualisation and dashboard development (preferred)
- Professional accounting qualification such as CA or ACCA is advantageous
