A growing organisation is looking for a Finance Assistant to support its small finance team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of routine tasks and month-end involvement, and who is comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities can shift.

About the Organisation

The business is expanding quickly across the UK and internationally, and the finance function plays a key role in supporting that growth. You’ll be joining a friendly, collaborative team where everyone contributes to keeping financial processes running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Handling supplier invoices from receipt through to posting, ensuring the purchase ledger is accurate and up to date.
  • Monitoring outstanding items and helping maintain tidy ledgers.
  • Assisting with the monthly close by preparing key adjustments such as accruals, prepayments, and revenue-related calculations.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end schedules.
  • Matching incoming customer payments to invoices within the accounting system.
  • Investigating and resolving any mismatches or queries.
  • Creating customer invoices through the organisation’s billing platform.
  • Ensuring billing is completed accurately and on time.
  • Following up on overdue invoices and maintaining regular communication with customers.
  • Helping support cash flow through proactive collection activity.
  • Assisting with wider finance tasks as needed, typical of a small and agile team.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to organise your workload, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines, particularly around month-end.
  • Experience using Xero and/or Stripe (desirable).
  • Previous experience in a small finance team or fast-paced environment.
