Ready to lead a high-impact transformation within a well-established public sector organisation? Our client is seeking an experienced IT Service Delivery Consultant to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their IT services. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a strategically significant programme, designing and delivering the specification for a next-generation Managed Service Provider (MSP).

The Opportunity

In this 9-month FTC, you will lead the end-to-end service design and requirements definition for the re-procurement of a critical MSP function. You will collaborate with stakeholders across IT, Security, Risk, Finance, and wider business areas to create a robust, procurement-ready specification—ensuring it is future-focused, fully compliant, and aligned to organisational strategy. This is a hands-on, high-impact role offering strong visibility and the chance to influence how IT services are delivered long-term.

What You will Be Doing

  • Lead structured requirements discovery workshops across business and technical teams
  • Analyse existing MSP services, contracts, and performance to establish a baseline
  • Define the future-state IT service model, aligned to ITIL best practices
  • Develop service levels, governance frameworks, and operating models
  • Embed security, risk, and compliance requirements, including ISO 27001 principles
  • Produce a comprehensive MSP specification covering technical, operational, and commercial needs
  • Ensure all documentation is clear, traceable, and procurement-ready
  • Provide governance, reporting, and progress updates to senior stakeholders

Your experience and background

We are looking for a confident and experienced consultant who can bring structure and clarity to complex initiatives.

  • Proven experience delivering IT outsourcing / MSP procurements or re-procurements
  • Strong understanding of IT service delivery and ITIL-aligned models
  • Experience within public sector or regulated environments
  • Excellent requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into clear, supplier-neutral specifications
  • ISO 27001 or broader information security experience
  • Background in financial services or pensions
  • Knowledge of UK public sector procurement frameworks
  • Experience supporting MSP transition or exit planning
