As a Banking Payments Assistant you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of a wide range of payments. You’ll be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of BACS, SWIFT, Faster Payments, and other transactional processes, ensuring operational excellence and exceptional levels of customer service.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, banking partners, and external counterparts, you will support the organisation’s commitment to delivering efficient, secure, and high-quality payment services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process, verify, and authorise BACS, SWIFT, CHAPS, and Faster Payments in line with company and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor daily payment operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Investigate and resolve payment queries or exceptions, liaising with banks and internal teams as required.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and contribute to continuous improvement of payment processes.
  • Support reconciliation activities, audit requirements, and payment-related reporting.
  • Provide expertise to support projects, system upgrades, and process enhancements involving payment platforms.

You will be a detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge of payment processes and regulatory frameworks. You will bring:

  • Proven experience in a payments, treasury operations, banking operations, or financial services environment.
  • Solid understanding of BACS, SWIFT, and wider payment schemes.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
