Eden Scott is proud to be partnering with a leading Financial Services client in Edinburgh to recruit an Associate Banking Director. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced relationship‑driven banking professional to join a highly respected team and play a key role in managing and growing a quality client portfolio.

In this role, you’ll build and nurture strong client relationships, support Banking Directors, and deliver tailored lending, deposit, and banking solutions. You’ll play a vital part in shaping a profitable, sustainable portfolio while delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a defined portfolio of clients, ensuring first‑class service
  • Support Banking Directors with portfolio oversight and client engagement
  • Recommend appropriate banking products and solutions
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and supporting documentation
  • Complete internal credit applications and monitor existing borrowing
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies
  • Maintain accurate client records including KYC/AML
  • Build knowledge of the Bank’s commercial environment and client needs
  • Attend networking events and contribute to business development
  • Collaborate across the Bank to deliver excellent client outcomes
  • Maintain accurate CRM records
  • Support ad‑hoc business projects when required

Person Specification:

  • Achieved or working towards a recognised professional banking qualification (e.g. Chartered Banker and/or CeMAP).
  • The ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Uses effective questioning and listening skills to establish client needs.
  • Delivers clear, well-structured presentations, adapting style and content to suit different audiences and settings.
  • Strong networking skills, with experience of developing and sustaining internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to present appropriate recommendations in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
  • A collaborative team player who contributes positively to team dynamics and morale.
  • Ability to positively challenge both colleagues and clients where appropriate.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a pro-active approach.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple and changing priorities at once.
  • Brings fresh perspectives while maintaining integrity, discretion and professionalism.
