About the Company An established, employee-owned environmental consultancy (300 staff) is expanding its Scotland ecology team. About the Role This role offers the opportunity to lead diverse projects across renewable energy, infrastructure, and large-scale habitat restoration. Responsibilities Lead ecological surveys and field programmes across varied habitats Manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects and client relationships Review ecological reports (PEA, protected species, EcIA) Support and mentor junior ecologists Contribute to tenders, proposals, and business growth Collaborate with planning, landscape, GIS, heritage, and environmental teams Projects Renewable energy (primarily wind, plus solar, hydrogen, battery storage) Electricity transmission and distribution networks Public infrastructure (schools, hospitals, defence) Climate resilience and flood mitigation schemes Biodiversity, rewilding, and landscape restoration projects Local authority planning and ecological strategy work Qualifications Strong knowledge of UK ecology, survey methods, and legislation Experience delivering and reviewing ecological reports Confident in project management and client engagement Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel Required Skills Strong knowledge of UK ecology, survey methods, and legislation Experience delivering and reviewing ecological reports Confident in project management and client engagement Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel Preferred Skills Experience in renewable energy projects Familiarity with biodiversity and landscape restoration Pay range and compensation package £40,000–£47,000 | Employee ownership bonus (up to £3,600 tax-free) | 25 days’ leave public holidays (buy/sell options) | Life assurance (4× salary) | Income protection | Annual salary review | Paid volunteering day | Working pattern: Hybrid (minimum 2 days office-based), flexible full-time hours (37.5/week).
