We’re supporting a well‑established Midlothian based organisation to find an experienced HR Manager to lead their people agenda. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the business, building strong relationships, and making a visible impact, both strategically and day‑to‑day.
Overview
You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team as a trusted partner, helping to shape the people strategy while also being hands‑on across the full HR remit. It’s a varied role where no two days look the same, one minute you’ll be coaching managers, the next you’ll be driving forward key initiatives around culture, engagement and organisational development.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to align people strategy with business goals
- Supporting and developing managers to build confidence in their people leadership
- Managing a range of employee relations activity, with a proactive, early‑intervention approach
- Leading recruitment and onboarding to ensure a strong candidate experience
- Reviewing and improving policies, processes and overall HR effectiveness
- Overseeing learning & development activity and supporting a culture of continuous improvement
- Taking ownership of Health & Safety and ensuring compliance across the business
You’ll Bring
- Proven experience at HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor level
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and best practice
- Experience working in a unionised environment (essential)
- Ideally, a background within manufacturing, industrial or similar operational environments
- A natural coaching style and the ability to build credibility quickly
- A hands‑on approach, with the ability to balance strategic input and operational delivery
