This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build on their existing finance experience whilst continuing their professional studies. Joining a supportive and collaborative finance team, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities and play a key role in supporting financial reporting, budgeting and operational decision-making. Working closely with experienced finance professionals, you'll be given genuine responsibility from day one and the opportunity to develop your technical and commercial finance skills within a business that continues to grow and invest in its people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
  • Preparing accruals, prepayments and journal entries
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Processing supplier invoices and supporting purchase ledger activities
  • Producing quarterly VAT returns
  • Providing information and support for the annual audit process
  • Supporting annual budget preparation and forecasting activities
  • Analysing overheads and key expenditure areas
  • Assisting with payroll processing
  • Producing financial reports and analysis
  • Collaborating with finance and operational teams across the business
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function

About You

  • Previous experience within an accounts or finance role
  • AAT qualified, actively studying ACCA/CIMA, accountancy graduate or equivalent experience
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments would be advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across the business
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
