The Accounts Supervisor Role

In this role, you will take responsibility for managing a small portfolio of SME clients while supporting the wider team. Key duties include:

  • Managing a portfolio of SME businesses and maintaining regular client contact
  • Delivering a proactive, client‑centred service
  • Training and supervising students within the team
  • Reviewing work prepared by colleagues and providing constructive feedback
  • Preparing Limited Company, LLP, partnership and sole trader accounts
  • Preparing management accounts
  • Drafting personal and corporation tax computations
  • Supporting assistant managers with ad‑hoc client tasks
  • Keeping technical knowledge up to date across accounting standards and tax
  • Communicating with clients and HMRC both verbally and in writing

This is a role with excellent development potential and the chance to build strong client relationships.

About You

You will bring:

  • Nearly or newly qualified status (ACCA, ICAS, ICAEW)
  • At least 3 years’ experience within a UK practice environment
  • Strong experience preparing sole trader, FRS102 and FRS102 1A accounts
  • A commitment to delivering first‑class service
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to retain and apply technical knowledge
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
