The Accounts Supervisor Role
In this role, you will take responsibility for managing a small portfolio of SME clients while supporting the wider team. Key duties include:
- Managing a portfolio of SME businesses and maintaining regular client contact
- Delivering a proactive, client‑centred service
- Training and supervising students within the team
- Reviewing work prepared by colleagues and providing constructive feedback
- Preparing Limited Company, LLP, partnership and sole trader accounts
- Preparing management accounts
- Drafting personal and corporation tax computations
- Supporting assistant managers with ad‑hoc client tasks
- Keeping technical knowledge up to date across accounting standards and tax
- Communicating with clients and HMRC both verbally and in writing

About You
You will bring:
- Nearly or newly qualified status (ACCA, ICAS, ICAEW)
- At least 3 years’ experience within a UK practice environment
- Strong experience preparing sole trader, FRS102 and FRS102 1A accounts
- A commitment to delivering first‑class service
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
- Strong IT skills and the ability to retain and apply technical knowledge
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
