The Outsourced Finance Assistant / Bookkeeper Role
This role sits within the firm’s outsourced finance function, supporting a varied portfolio of clients. Responsibilities include:
- Bulk processing of invoices, expenses and financial transactions
- Bank and control account reconciliations
- Preparing VAT files and returns, including month‑end reconciliations
- Supporting managers with ad‑hoc client tasks
- Setting up online accounting software
- Keeping up to date with VAT rules and accounting software developments
- Communicating with clients and HMRC, both verbally and in writing
- Working closely with colleagues to deliver a coordinated service
- Maintaining regular client contact to provide proactive support
- Filing and document management
This is a hands‑on role with excellent exposure to clients and modern cloud‑based systems.
About You
You will ideally bring:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice using online accounting software
- A genuine interest in cloud accounting, tech‑enabled processes and advisory services
- A commitment to delivering first‑class service
- The ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Strong IT skills and the ability to retain and apply software knowledge
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptability and strong organisational skills
