Assistant Project Manager – Solar (Pre-Construction)
Our client is a fast-growing renewable energy developer which is delivering utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across the UK and Europe. With a strong pipeline and proven track record, the company manages projects from planning through to operation. Backed by significant investment, it is driving the transition to net zero through sustainable, cost-effective energy solutions.
This is an exciting time to join their Project Management team as they move towards delivery on two utility scale solar projects.
As Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing work-packages during pre-FID, construction and commissioning phase of the project lifecycle. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure projects are ready for construction on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory and technical requirements.
For this role, you will need:
- Project Management / Engineering / Planning Qualification (degree level as a minimum).
- Minimum of 3 years experience within the renewable energy industry on Project Management, particularly working on solar PV, battery storage or onshore wind projects (experience in other industries with suitable transferrable skills will also be considered).
- Experience of leading the development or delivery of projects at various stages in the project lifecycle.
- Experience of contract preparation and managing and negotiating tender processes (including consultancy services).
- Experience of managing project stakeholders including regulators, statutory consultees and local communities.
- Experience of UK consenting processes including preparation of planning applications leading to successful planning consents.
- Experience in the use of technical software (such as AutoCAD, GIS, PVSyst)
- An ability to anticipated project issues and propose creative solutions.
- An ability to translate technical detail into commercial impact.
- An ability to manage ability to manage several project tasks at once and be able to plan and prioritise project workload.
