Our client, who are based in Alloa, and are a global leader in flow control solutions, is seeking an experienced Lead Fitter to work closely with department Team Leaders and Supervisors to ensure all work is carried out in a timely manner and to the required quality standard. This role requires an experienced hands-on fitter with a minimum of 10 years’ experience working with rotating equipment, centrifugal pumps/motors & turbines and to execute workshop-based overhauls, to the highest possible standard and in a manner that demonstrates safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a high level of housekeeping and that your area of responsibility is always visitors ready, using 5S techniques.
- Consult with workshop supervisor to ensure smooth lean flow of material to achieve output.
- Consult with and encourage team members to focus on achievement of all daily/weekly objectives.
- Build team spirit and positive attitudes.
- First line supervision and maintain area of disciplines.
- Consult with Inspection Co-Ordinator and team members to complete inspection reports/documentation to resolve all quality related issues.
- Consult with Supervisors and Project Engineers to ensure the required work can be executed and that the quality standard is correct and lasting.
- Ensure all health & safety procedures & working practices are adhered to and applied within area of responsibility.
- Be proactive in reporting and resolving any concerns, participate in investigation & reporting of accidents & incidents.
Requirements
- Must be eligible for Customer Security Vetting including Basic Disclosure Scotland and Baseline Security Vetting - CTC Vetting may be required for certain contracts with confidential viewing provisions.
- Time served craftsperson within a mechanical discipline with 10 years minimum experience working on rotating equipment.
- Must have extensive knowledge of rotating equipment and extensive hands-on engineering experience.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and self-motivated whilst able to work on own initiative and take appropriate decisions.
- Good people management skills and organisational skills.
- Speaks clearly and persuasively; listens actively and seeks clarification; asks appropriate questions; able to effectively present and discuss views and ideas; shares relevant information; gives constructive feedback to others and is open to receiving feedback.
