The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.
In this role you will have line manager responsibility for a small team and lead them to deliver financial reporting tasks for specific management regions which will include year end and month end tasks, reviewing work completed by Accountants and Associate Accountants and building and maintaining relationships with regional finance teams. This is a varied, busy and interesting role with a key requirement of developing, coaching, mentoring and supervising your team.
Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Lead the preparation to filing process of your region's statutory financial statements, ensuring high quality statutory financial statements and audit back up are delivered on time.
- Prepare or review technical accounting memos to support accounting decisions.
- Liaise with external auditors to ensure deadlines are met and issues are brought to the attention of management when necessary.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews prepared by the team, providing constructive feedback on improvements to the back up or the approach and proactively follow up on unresolved review points and actions required.
- Maintain and develop your team's relationship with regional finance teams, ensuring that any issues noted are highlighted, understood and addressed, sharing ideas and best practice.
- Coach and supervise team members, providing regular feedback.
- Help to establish best practice, standardisation and ways of working. Identify areas of process improvements and propose potential solutions.
- Provide training, where required, on technical accounting issues.
- Manage the workload for your team, ensuring timely delivery and will contribute directly to the preparation and execution of deliverables if required.
You will be a qualified accountant, with audit and accounts preparation experience and proven qualification experience in a Financial Reporting role. You will have experience of IFRS and FRS 101 statutory accounts preparation, financial controls and the audit process and experience working within a similar environment. Previous line management experience would be beneficial, with involvement in resource planning and workload management and knowledge of working with SAP and a curiosity to understand processes to be able to identify and resolve problems is essential.
