As part of the Finance Leadership team, this Head of Treasury position reports to the CFO and is responsible for leading the Treasury and Accounts Payable teams; ensuring that our clients' group efficiently manages liquidity, pays vendors on time, identifies and reduces FX and Commodity risk, and operates within the parameters set out within the Treasury Policy.

You will also take a leading role, with shareholders, in developing financing solutions for our clients' Energy Transition project.

Duties will include:

  • Accountability for managing liquidity and cash balances ensuring availability of adequate working capital facilities.
  • Jointly responsible for the management and optimization of bank guarantees, parent company guarantees and letters of credit, bank accounts and escrow accounts including the Decommissioning Security Agreements.
  • Accountable for managing intercompany loan positions, cash centralisation and dividends while maintaining the integrity of the inter-company loan matrix and ensuring compliance with legal and operational guidelines.
  • Responsibility for the integrity of all accounting in the Company's Treasury Limited.
  • Responsibility for the identification, execution and management of FX and commodity hedges to mitigate currency risk within the Company's operations and financing structure.
  • Managing processes, policies and controls to support robust reporting, ensure timely and effective financial/management reporting and relevant forecasting of treasury activity and hedge positions to the CFO and the Board.
  • Ensuring all ledgers are maintained & supplier and customer reconciliations and reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Leading the annual reviews of the Treasury policy, Commodity Hedging Policy, Treasury and Banking delegation of authority, bank mandates and bank portal access.
  • Ensuring the integrity of the Treasury management system, AP system and all banking systems.
  • Continually seeking improvement in process or systems to further minimise costs and increase efficiency in the function and build and maintain positive working relationships with Shareholder Treasury Functions, banking relationship managers and any other key stakeholders.

Working with People / Leadership:

  • Build and lead a high-performing team, being accountable for team performance and delivery as well as their wellbeing and development.
  • Manage and develop the Treasury and AP teams, supporting cross-functional knowledge and maintain documentation of all Treasury and AP processes.
  • Lead and instil technical and professional excellence, ensuring capabilities remain in line with industry and function development and best practice.
  • Emphasise the importance of environmental, social and governance criteria.
  • Proactively work towards making the organisation socially responsible in all aspects of its business.

Performance Management & Development:

  • Lead the performance management process across their team.
  • Act as a role model, coaching your teams in living the values, demonstrating high standards of behaviour, performance management and employee development.
  • Encourage development through lateral moves as well as challenging assignments and progression, fostering breadth and depth of skill and competency development.

To be considered:

You will be able to demonstrate a full understanding of accounting standards for statutory and management reporting requirements and practical application of these, an expert knowledge of relevant business processes end to end and have a strong controls & data integrity focus. You will hold a professional accounting qualification and have previous relevant recent treasury experience, ideally in a large multi-currency and corporate/O&G environment.
