A leading high technology manufacturing company is offering an excellent opportunity for an Assembly Technician to further develop their career within a specialist engineering environment. The organisation has an established international reputation for innovative design and consistently high production standards. With a strong and growing order book, the business is expanding its highly skilled production team at its state of the art facility in Glasgow.
The Role
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Assembly Technician will contribute to the precision assembly and testing of complex, high reliability products. Responsibilities include:
- Perform hand soldering and wire preparation in line with IPC and relevant industry standards.
- Assemble precision components using jigs, fixtures, and two part epoxies, ensuring all quality requirements are achieved.
- Carry out final assembly of products to meet defined design and performance specifications, ensuring adherence to key process requirements such as quality, throughput, and mechanical/electrical tolerances.
- Follow, maintain, and update Manufacturing Instructions, SOPs, and Product Travellers, ensuring accurate recording, analysis, and storage of data to support full traceability.
- Conduct a variety of electrical and mechanical tests throughout the build cycle.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and all internal company procedures and processes.
