An established and growing Financial Planning firm is seeking an Accountant to join the team on a 12–15 month maternity cover contract, with a strong potential for the role to become permanent. This is a varied opportunity combining responsibility for the internal accounts function with personal tax work, suited to someone who enjoys a broad, hands‑on role within a collaborative environment.
The Role
- You will take ownership of the day‑to‑day accountancy function, including:
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Month‑end journals
- Supporting with client assignments
- Preparation of personal tax/self‑assessment returns (no corporate tax)
There is increasing client work within the firm, offering scope to further develop tax experience for those with a particular interest in this area.
About You
- AAT qualified or nearly qualified
- Good understanding of personal tax and self‑assessment
- Experience with core accounting processes (AP, AR, journals, reporting)
- Familiar with IRIS, TaxCalc, or similar tax software
Salary & Working Pattern
- Salary up to £30,000 (dependent on experience)
- Part‑time considered (0.6–0.8 FTE)
- Full‑time applicants also welcomed
- Fully office‑based
