An established and growing financial planning firm in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join its technical team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a team of Financial Advisers, playing a key part in delivering high-quality client outcomes while benefiting from strong career development prospects.
As a key member of the back-office function, you will be responsible for supporting advisers through research, report writing, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The position offers a high degree of autonomy and the chance to contribute meaningfully to the firm’s continued success.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare client files for adviser meetings, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory requirements
- Conduct detailed research on financial products and recommend suitable solutions
- Utilise financial planning tools to assess risk, suitability, and market options
- Compile and structure suitability reports for adviser review
- Liaise with advisers and management to support client case work
- Ensure all compliance procedures are followed and records are accurately maintained
- Assess risks and opportunities across new and existing client cases
- Previous experience in a Paraplanner role within an IFA environment
- Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments, inheritance tax, estate planning, trusts, and protection
- Good understanding of FCA regulations and their practical application
- Experience using financial planning and research tools (e.g. Intelligent Office, FE Analytics, CashCalc, Iress, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
- Professional, ethical, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Level 4 Diploma (or working towards) preferred
