The Opportunity
An established St James’s Place practice based in Holborn is looking to appoint an experienced IFA Administrator / PSS Administrator to join its established support team. This is a key hire for the business, with the successful candidate taking ownership of day-to-day administration and helping ensure advisers continue to receive a high level of support.
The Role
- Provide broad administrative support across the practice, with responsibilities including:
- Managing client servicing and ongoing administration.
- Preparing and submitting new business.
- Working with St James’s Place systems and processes.
- Preparing basic suitability letters and supporting documentation.
- Managing client records and ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Liaising with providers, clients and advisers to progress cases.
- Taking ownership of tasks and working independently.
- Providing cover for key Practice Manager responsibilities during periods of annual leave.
The practice currently outsources some PSS administration to a virtual firm, although the preference is to keep this to a minimum. The successful candidate will therefore have the opportunity to take greater ownership of the administration function.
About You
- The ideal candidate will have:
- ~2-3 years’ experience within an IFA or wealth management environment.
- ~ Strong knowledge of St James’s Place systems and processes.
- ~ Experience across client servicing, new business submissions and basic suitability letters.
- ~ The confidence to work independently and take responsibility for their workload.
- ~ Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- ~ Experience in a Practice Manager or similar position of responsibility would be advantageous.
- ~ Industry qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
Candidates with slightly less experience may also be considered where they can demonstrate strong St James’s Place knowledge and relevant experience.
The Practice
The business is currently focused on providing an excellent service to its existing client base and ensuring the practice is operating efficiently before embarking on further growth. Longer term, there are plans to potentially add further advisers and support staff, but the practice is deliberately looking to remain a well-established, manageable-sized business rather than becoming a large corporate operation. The office is shared with other St James’s Place businesses, providing a sociable working environment and opportunities to get involved in wider work-related and social events.
Salary & Benefits
- ~£35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
