Conservation Officer – Upper Caldew

Location: Penrith, Cumbria

  • Salary: £28,000-£30,000 + Pension (pro‑rata if working 4 days)
  • Working pattern: 5 days per week
  • Contract: 18‑month, potential to extend

Responsibilities:

  • Help deliver Phase 1 of the Reconnecting and Reviving the Caldew project.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement riparian improvement and water‑friendly farming projects in the Upper Caldew catchment.

Conservation Manager – Upper Caldew

  • Salary: £40,000 per annum + pension
  • Working pattern: Full time
  • Contract: 18‑month, potential to extend

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Phase 1 of the Reconnecting & Reviving the Caldew programme.
  • Project manage the programme and collaborate with farmers, landowners and communities to develop proposals for large‑ and small‑scale river and catchment projects.
  • Write the capital bid to deliver a further phased 5‑year programme of delivery.
