About the role
This is a 12-month paid training placement starting in Autumn/winter 2026 and is designed to be a launch pad for someone at the beginning of their career in conservation and/or community engagement.
Working alongside our team, you will gain practical experience supporting the planning and delivery of community events and volunteer work parties across the Eden catchment - including practical conservation activities, and you will organise and occasionally lead guided wellbeing walks and get involved in our public campaigns to stop the spread of invasive non-native species through ‘Check, Clean, Dry’ and the Big Balsam Bash.
You will be a confident communicator with the ability to make environmental and scientific topics accessible to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. You will enjoy working outdoors, engaging with people from different backgrounds, and inspiring others to care for and protect local waterways.
The role requires regular travel to sites around the catchment so you will need to have a current, full UK driving licence.
