An international investment bank is looking to appoint an employment lawyer into its London legal team within a broad, commercially focused in-house role supporting stakeholders across the UK, EMEA and wider international offices. Working closely with HR, Legal and senior business leaders, the role offers exposure to a varied mix of advisory, investigations and strategic employment matters within a fast-paced and highly regulated environment. This opportunity would suit an employment lawyer currently within private practice or financial services seeking broader international exposure and a more commercially integrated position.
The role will involve:
- Advising on a broad range of UK employment law matters across international offices
- Supporting on investigations, employee relations issues, grievances and disciplinary matters
- Advising on exits, restrictive covenants and senior employee matters
- Supporting employment disputes and wider contentious matters
- Reviewing and advising on employment contracts, policies and procedures
- Partnering closely with HR and senior stakeholders across the business
- Supporting on international employment and mobility-related matters
- Liaising with external counsel where required
The successful candidate will:
- Have approximately 5–8 years’ PQE within employment law
- Have strong UK employment law experience gained within a recognised law firm and/or financial services organisation
- Be commercially minded with strong stakeholder management skills
- Be confident operating within a fast-paced and international environment
- Have experience handling complex and sensitive employment matters
Previous financial services or investment banking exposure would be advantageous but is not essential.
