We're recruiting a senior Head of Administration & Workplace for a highly successful, fast-paced organisation in Central London.

This is a substantial leadership role with responsibility for the people, services and operations that sit behind an exceptional working environment.

Leading a broad support function, you'll ensure consistently high standards across administration, workplace and facilities while continuing to evolve the function as the business develops.

It requires someone with real operational depth, strong commercial judgement and an exceptional service mindset.

You'll be comfortable operating with senior leadership while remaining close enough to the day-to-day operation to understand what's working, where standards can be raised and what needs to change.

The Role

  • Lead the administration, workplace and facilities function, setting and maintaining consistently high standards.
  • Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team, creating clear accountability and a strong service-led culture.
  • Oversee key external suppliers and service providers, managing performance, contracts and commercial relationships.
  • Take ownership of budgets, expenditure and cost effectiveness across the function.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders on operational priorities, workplace requirements and wider projects.
  • Ensure the office environment and associated services run seamlessly and deliver an exceptional experience for employees and visitors.
  • Maintain appropriate standards across workplace compliance, health & safety, security and operational resilience.
  • Lead workplace projects and improvements from planning through to successful delivery.
  • Continually review processes and service models, identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and consistency.
  • Provide senior management with clear reporting, insight and recommendations.
  • Ensure internal teams and external partners are appropriately structured, resourced and equipped to deliver at a consistently high level.

About You

  • Significant leadership experience across workplace, facilities, business administration, office operations or a similarly broad corporate services function.
  • Proven experience managing and developing teams alongside multiple external suppliers and service providers.
  • Comfortable taking ownership of a complex, high-quality corporate working environment.
  • Strong commercial capability across budgets, contracts, procurement and vendor management.
  • Experience delivering workplace projects and driving meaningful operational improvements.
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and able to communicate effectively at leadership level.
  • High standards with a strong hospitality and service mentality.
  • Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-focused, with the ability to see both the bigger picture and the operational detail.
  • A strong people leader who can create accountability, develop capability and drive performance.
  • Discreet, resilient and comfortable operating within a fast-moving, high-expectation environment.

We're open-minded on sector and educational background.

Depth of experience, leadership capability and a proven track record of delivering a high-quality workplace and support function will be far more important than a particular route into the role.

The Opportunity

This is an unusually broad senior appointment offering genuine ownership of a critical business function.

You'll have the autonomy to shape how the function operates, develop the team, raise standards and improve service delivery, while having a visible impact on the wider working environment.

It will suit someone who takes real pride in creating an exceptional workplace, enjoys operating in a high-performing environment and wants the scope to make a meaningful difference.
