Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Consultant - Contract and Claim in the construction sector, based in East Africa. Responsibilities include managing contracts throughout project lifecycles, identifying and mitigating risks, providing advice to clients on contractual obligations, and supporting claim preparation and dispute resolution. The role requires preparing, reviewing, and negotiating variations, claims, and commercial agreements while adhering to legal and regulatory standards. Collaboration with project teams and stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes is a key part of the role.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or master's in Civil engineering.
- Open to work from East Africa.
- Proven 8 to 10 years of experience as a Contract and Claim in the construction industry.
- Proficient in English at a professional level.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, contract law, and industry-specific regulations.
- Expertise in claim management, including analysis, preparation, and negotiation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and assess complex contractual issues.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities to effectively interact with project teams and stakeholders.
- Ideally have qualifications as MRICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors), CIOB (Royal Institute of Chartered Builder), CIArb (Chartered Institute of Arbitrator).
