The Tenders and Contracts Manager, within the Service Development Team, supports the Director of Service Development in achieving growth through new business opportunities. The role involves developing relationships with stakeholders such as Local Authorities, ICBs, Developers, and funders.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Identifying Opportunities
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure tender and contract monitoring processes are effective.
  • Monitor portals for new tenders and gather intelligence on upcoming bids.
  • Respond promptly to opportunities and involve operational teams as needed.
  • Complete necessary approval paperwork and facilitate information requests.
  • Keep abreast of contractual obligations and changes.
  • Planning and Delivery
    • Track and report on framework end dates and create an annual bid cycle plan.
    • Meet proposal deadlines, prepare high-standard tender documentation, and coordinate submission processes.
    • Maintain and improve proposal materials and case study libraries.
    • Manage successful contracts and conduct lessons learned for unsuccessful bids.
  • Collaborative Working
    • Engage internal departments early in the bid process.
    • Attend strategy and pre-tender meetings with stakeholders.
    • Update tender bulletins and maintain contract registers.
  • Strategic Thinking
    • Stay informed about framework updates and opportunities.
    • Maintain a 12-month forward view of tenders and resource planning.
    • Keep key information about commissioners and fee structures up to date.
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in educational opportunities and maintain networks.
    • Seek feedback for continuous improvement.

    The Ideal Candidate

    • Experience in tendering and contract management within Health and Social Care, especially for Learning Disabilities, Autism, or Mental Health.
    • Strong relationships with Local Authorities, ICBs, Developers, and other sector stakeholders.
    • Proven success in securing bids.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
