Position Overview: Specialist Support Worker – supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental ill health and associated complex needs in their homes and in the community. The role aims to enable users to live independently and pursue their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support service users to lead a full and active life in line with their wishes, choices and support plans.
  • Safeguard service users and take appropriate action to protect them from abuse.
  • Provide emotional support using a person-centred approach.
  • Assist with social activities, finances, medication, practical household tasks and personal care.
  • Act as an informal point of contact for those in the service user’s support circle (e.g. families, social workers).
  • Accurately report and record issues related to care and support to monitor health and wellbeing.
  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations and regard the safety and welfare of others.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Compassionate, caring and genuinely passionate about helping service users gain independence.
  • Positive attitude, especially during challenging days, with an ability to influence wellbeing positively.
  • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to support colleagues; initiative and independent working capability.
  • Minimum 6–12 months of experience in the care sector.

Benefits & Salary:

  • Hourly pay of £13.20 (equivalent to £28,828.80 per annum based on a 42‑hour week, pro‑rata).
  • £500 bonus through the refer‑a‑friend scheme (unlimited referrals).
