As a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Development Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with complex needs by promoting person-centred, evidence-based approaches to behaviour support. Working collaboratively with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams, you will assess behavioural needs, develop and implement tailored PBS plans, and provide training and coaching to frontline staff. Your work will focus on reducing restrictive practices, fostering independence, and empowering individuals to achieve meaningful outcomes in their daily lives. This role is ideal for someone passionate about human rights, inclusion, and driving positive change within social care settings.
This is a hybrid role that requires the post holder to travel to our various services in Yorkshire, Lancashire and East/West Midlands when required including overnight stays, so flexibility, a reliable vehicle and a valid UK driving licence is essential.
Main Responsibilities:- Work collaboratively with others
- Undertake referral assessments, BBATs, direct and indirect assessments
- Review the efficacy of PBSPs using positive monitoring
- Assist with transition programmes
- Generate FBAs & Positive Behaviour Support Plans
- Promote the National Strategy Group Challenging Behaviour Charter and Restraint Reduction Training Standards
- Cultivate a shared understanding of the function of behaviour
- Ensure outcome data relating to distress communication events is collected, analysed and reviewed in a timely manner
- Deliver CPD sessions to teams when required
- Promote and input into the development of a reflective organisational culture that learns from experience and draws on this learning to improve outcomes for service users
- Support co-production by involving people in their own care and support
