Our client, a globally recognised project and programme management consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to support the successful delivery of complex capital investment (CAPEX) projects within the pharmaceutical sector. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled planning professional with extensive experience in large-scale projects, scheduling, and project controls. You will play a key role in driving project performance through robust planning, progress management, schedule analysis, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, update, and quality assure project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project in accordance with established planning standards.
  • Support the development of integrated project schedules, consolidating inputs from multiple disciplines and project workstreams.
  • Produce schedule analyses, look-ahead plans, project reports, KPI dashboards, and critical path analyses.
  • Monitor and track project progress, providing trend analysis and performance reporting.
  • Review and integrate contractor schedules, ensuring completeness and compliance with agreed planning standards.
  • Support change management, risk assessments, scenario planning, and the maintenance of planning and progress data.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, project stakeholders, and international partners to ensure successful project delivery.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 10 years or more of project planning and scheduling experience.
  • Proven experience independently managing planning and scheduling activities on major capital projects.
  • Experience working within pharmaceutical, life sciences, or highly regulated environments is preferred.
  • Strong practical experience with Microsoft Project, with Primavera P6 expertise highly desirable.
  • Sound understanding of WBS-based planning, scheduling logic, progress measurement, and project reporting.
  • Experience managing complex project structures involving multiple stakeholders and contractors.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels.
  • Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the DACH region as required.
