A growing building services consultancy based in London is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead and deliver high-quality electrical design across a wide range of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of designs, mentor junior staff, and play a key role in the continued growth of the practice.
About the Role
This role involves leading electrical design on a variety of projects, from concept through to completion, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices. You'll work closely with architects, clients, and other consultants to develop integrated design solutions that meet both aesthetic and technical performance goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical design and delivery of building services projects.
- Produce detailed calculations, specifications, and drawings.
- Oversee coordination of MEP services with other disciplines.
- Attend client and design team meetings, representing the electrical discipline.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and support their professional development.
- Stay current with legislation, technical standards, and industry innovation.
- Contribute to sustainable design and low-carbon strategies.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical building services design, with UK consultancy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of relevant standards (BS7671, CIBSE, Part L) and design tools (Amtech, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD Revit desirable).
- Ability to manage and deliver projects independently.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Chartered or working towards Chartership (e.g., CEng via IET or CIBSE) is advantageous.
