The Opportunity
I am working exclusively with a leading high-end refurbishment and fit out contractor delivering one of London\’s most prestigious luxury projects. They are seeking an experienced Project Health & Safety Manager to oversee all HSEQ matters on Phase 3 of this landmark development – comprising the fit out of four super-luxury penthouse suites (two within a heritage building, two within a new build extension) and a high-end restaurant, all delivered to palace-level standards. This is a confidential, site-based role on a live project of international prestige – ideal for a health and safety professional experienced in luxury interiors, hospitality, or complex refurbishment environments.
Role
The Project Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance are maintained across all aspects of the fit out and refurbishment works.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all site-based health, safety, and environmental management activities.
- Ensure full compliance with company HSEQ policies, UK legislation, and client standards.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring all findings are actioned.
- Provide proactive support and guidance to the site management team and subcontractors.
- Manage site inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for all personnel.
- Review and approve subcontractor RAMS, method statements, and permits to work.
- Support the project team in the development of the Construction Phase Plan and ongoing updates.
- Monitor and report on H&S performance, near misses, and incident investigations.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, awareness, and accountability throughout the workforce.
- Liaise with the client\’s H&S representatives, consultants, and enforcing authorities as required.

You’ll be a hands-on and proactive safety professional who thrives in a dynamic, high-quality construction environment and takes pride in maintaining exemplary site standards.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager or H&S Advisor with a major or fit-out contractor.
- Experience working on high-end hotels, luxury residential, or complex refurbishment projects.
- Thorough knowledge of UK construction health and safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels.
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping.
- Professional qualifications such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent (minimum).
- Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH or above) desirable.
