Role Purpose
To lead and execute business development activity with a primary focus on drylining packages, while also promoting the company's wider capabilities across internal fit‐out, façades, cladding and associated construction services. The role will identify new opportunities, secure tender invitations, strengthen client relationships and support the company's continued growth within the construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
Drylining Business Growth (Primary Focus)- Identify, target and secure new drylining opportunities with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors and developers.
- Position the business early on upcoming drylining tender lists.
- Articulate the company's technical strengths in partitions, ceilings, SFS interfaces, acoustic systems and fire‐rated solutions.
- Promote delivery capability, quality, programme reliability and value engineering within drylining packages.
- Cross‐sell additional services such as:
- SFS
- Ceilings & partitions
- External façades & cladding
- Full internal fit‐out solutions
- Specialist finishes (phenolic, acrylic, decorative systems)
- Build, nurture and maintain key stakeholder relationships with contractors, QS teams, project managers and design consultants.
- Attend client meetings, site visits, industry events and networking functions to maximise visibility.
- Generate project leads through proactive outreach, social and professional platforms, and supply chain interactions.
- Work closely with estimating teams to prepare pricing, proposals and tender submissions for drylining and related packages.
- Support scope clarification, value engineering options and programme alignment.
- Attend internal review sessions, feeding market intelligence into bid decisions.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline of drylining opportunities.
- Produce forecasts, market reports and strategic insights for senior management.
- Support growth planning within the company's drylining division and wider service offering.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential- Proven experience in business development, sales or commercial roles within drylining or closely related internal construction packages.
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Drylining systems (partitions, MF ceilings, tape & jointing)
- SFS and associated interfaces
- Fire‐stopping and acoustic performance requirements
- Experience promoting additional packages such as SFS, cladding, façades or full fit‐out.
- Understanding of tender processes, drawings, specifications and construction sequencing.
- Experience supporting estimating or bid teams.
- Familiarity with ISO‐aligned quality, environmental or H&S management systems.
- Motivated, proactive and self‐driven.
- Strong communicator with excellent networking ability.
- Technically confident discussing drylining and internal finishes.
- Organised, strategic and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Collaborative and able to work effectively with estimating, operations and senior leadership.
