Are you a results-driven and tenacious leader with a passion for high-quality design? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of/ Senior Principal Designer to join a dynamic London architecture studio working on an impressive portfolio of projects—from new builds to heritage sites.
This entrepreneurial role offers a unique blend of responsibility and freedom, perfect for an ambitious professional looking to shape their career within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment. You\’ll take ownership of the CDM process across multiple projects, ensuring safety and compliance, while also managing and mentoring a talented team.
The Role:
- Lead and deliver CDM services across a variety of high-profile UK projects.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients, building strong professional relationships.
- Provide expert guidance on design risk management and compliance.
- Work closely with your team to uphold the studio\’s commitment to exceptional quality, sharing your knowledge on Health and Safety Risk management in line with current UK CDM regulations.
- Organise and assist clients in providing pre-construction information, along with preparing and issuing the Health and Safety File on completion.
- This role will require travel throughout the UK, a couple of times a year.
The Essentials:
- A minimum of 10 years of CDM experience.
- Must hold a degree level in Architectural / Technology / Engineering or construction.
- CMIOSH (Chartered Member of IOSH) and APS membership are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage teams, meet deadlines, and exceed expectations.
- Personable and professional communication skills for client liaison.
- Ideally already be security cleared, to allow immediate start on some confidential secure projects. But if not essential that there are no restrictions to achieving security clearance.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English, with ability to clearly communicate and demonstrate a diplomatic manner.
