The Role at a Glance

We are looking for a strategic leader to drive our clients consulting division, delivering cutting-edge solutions for data centres and critical environments. This role is at the heart of their technical operations, overseeing audits, assessments, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) designs across RIBA Stages 2-4.

This consultancy is going through a massive growth phase having recently secured a significant amount of investment and backing from a larger business. They are looking to add heads, and quickly. To do this, they need to employ a confident, enthusiastic leader to preside over an existing design team of 25. This is a massive opportunity at a crucial time of growth for this company; they are rapidly expanding into Europe and the Americas, and the candidate taking up this position will have the opportunity to grow exponentially with them.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

  1. Lead and evolve the consultancy division, ensuring its long-term success.
  2. Develop strategies to enhance service offerings and expand technical capabilities.
  3. Oversee financial performance, ensuring strong P&L management and commercial growth.
  4. Partner with business development teams to identify new opportunities and shape proposals.

Project & Technical Excellence

  1. Govern all consultancy projects, ensuring they meet technical, regulatory, and quality standards.
  2. Maintain accountability for principal design obligations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  3. Oversee coordination with external specialists (civil, structural, architectural) to drive project success.
  4. Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.

Team Leadership & Development

  1. Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of technical experts.
  2. Ensure the right structure and resources are in place to meet evolving project demands.
  3. Support career development, training, and professional growth of team members.

  2. Extensive DC/Mission Critical experience, preferably from an MEP design perspective.
  3. Strong commercial awareness with expertise in planning and risk management.
  4. Extensive industry experience (approximately 15+ years).
