Senior Practitioner - Emergency Duty Team (EDT) Coventry City Council | Β£33.30 per hour Umbrella | Office Based | Ongoing Agency Contract Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner to join the Emergency Duty Team (EDT) at Coventry City Council. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Social Worker with previous EDT experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident making autonomous safeguarding decisions outside of normal office hours. Working within the Council's Responsive Services, you will play a vital role in delivering an out-of-hours emergency social care service across Children's Services, Adult Social Care, Housing and Youth Justice Services, ensuring that urgent safeguarding concerns are responded to promptly and effectively. The Role As a Senior Practitioner within the Emergency Duty Team, you will: Respond to urgent safeguarding concerns involving children, young people, adults and families. Assess and manage risk in complex and emergency situations. Lead safeguarding decision-making outside of core working hours. Provide professional advice, guidance and consultation to partner agencies. Support and supervise Children and Family Workers. Work collaboratively with Police, Health, Housing and other partner agencies. Maintain high standards of statutory recording and social work practice. Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.Working Pattern Location: Between One Friargate and Whitley Depot, Coventry This is a fully office-based role operating on a variable rota covering evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Example shifts include: Monday to Thursday: 16:45 - 00:30 or 23:50 - 09:00 Friday: 16:15 - 00:30 or 23:50 - 09:00 Saturday & Sunday: 08:20 - 21:00 or 20:20 - 09:00A full rota pattern will be provided prior to commencement. Requirements To be considered for this role, you must have: Social Work England registration. Previous Emergency Duty Team (EDT) experience (essential). Significant post-qualified experience within Children's or Adults' Social Care. Strong safeguarding knowledge and statutory social work experience. Excellent assessment and risk management skills.
