A growing engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Building Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established team delivering innovative and sustainable building services solutions. You'll be involved in projects from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams to deliver high-quality, low-carbon engineering solutions. For those operating at Principal level, the role offers additional responsibility around project leadership, client management and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems across a range of projects
- Develop innovative and energy-efficient HVAC, heating, cooling and public health solutions
- Produce and review design calculations, specifications and technical reports
- Coordinate with electrical, sustainability and structural teams to deliver integrated design solutions
- Attend client, contractor and design team meetings
- Undertake site visits and provide technical support during construction
- Manage project programmes, resources and deliverables
- Mentor and support junior engineers
- Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience working within a building services consultancy environment
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, heating, cooling and building services design
- Proficiency with industry-standard design software
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE guidance
