About the Role
My client is a leading engineering business delivering innovative, high-performance solutions across complex projects. They are looking for an experienced Principal Engineer to join their Huntingdon team and provide technical leadership across a range of exciting projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior engineer looking to take ownership of complex engineering challenges, influence technical strategy, and support the development of the wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and engineering direction across complex projects.
- Lead engineering activities from concept and design through to manufacture, testing, and delivery.
- Review and approve designs, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs meet customer, regulatory, safety, and quality requirements.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
- Lead technical reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving activities.
- Mentor and develop engineers across the team.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement, engineering best practice, and technical innovation.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant engineering experience within a complex design environment.
- Proven experience in a senior/principal engineering role.
- Strong technical design and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading complex engineering projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers.
- Strong understanding of relevant engineering standards and regulations.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership is desirable.
