We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our growing team. As a Junior Estimator, you will assist in the estimation and tendering processes for a range of drylining projects across London, ensuring accurate costings and competitive pricing for new and ongoing projects. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and grow within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for drylining and associated works
- Review tender documentation and project specifications to ensure accuracy in estimates
- Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Produce material take-offs and ensure quantities are correctly measured
- Coordinate with project managers to gather information and ensure estimates align with project requirements
- Help in the preparation of cost plans and pricing strategies
- Maintain and update databases of subcontractor rates and materials
- Monitor project costs and highlight any discrepancies or variations
- Assist in the preparation of interim valuations and variations as required
- Support senior estimators in all aspects of the estimating process
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in estimating within a subcontractor environment is essential
- Drylining Experience: Drylining experience is ideal but not a requirement; experience in other construction sectors is acceptable
- Skills:
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Good understanding of construction processes and materials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively
Location: Based in Brentwood, with travel to London-based projects as required
