Birmingham Children\βs Trust are seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Manager to join their Children in Care Service, leading a dedicated team of social workers to deliver outstanding support and outcomes for looked after children and young people across the city.
About the Role
As a Team Manager, you will provide strong leadership and oversight, ensuring that statutory responsibilities are met and that children in care receive high-quality, relationship-based social work. You\βll play a key role in driving performance, supporting your team to deliver care planning and interventions that help children achieve permanence, stability and positive futures.
You will oversee a team managing a range of complex Children in Care cases, offering supervision, guidance, and ensuring practice is compliant with legislation and Birmingham Children\βs Trust procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, support and manage a team of qualified social workers within the Children in Care service
Ensure high-quality care planning, pathway planning, and statutory visiting is delivered consistently
Monitor performance, quality assurance and compliance with statutory requirements
Provide reflective supervision and foster a learning culture within the team
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to deliver positive outcomes for children and young people
Contribute to service development and strategic planning within the Trust
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Proven management or senior practitioner experience within a Children in Care / LAC service
Strong leadership, supervisory and organisational skills
Excellent understanding of Children in Care legislation, court work and care planning processes
Ability to inspire and develop a team to achieve excellent outcomes
