Experienced Social Worker required for work within the Children Looked After (CLA) Team in Swindon. Competitive rates of pay £42ph, minimum 3 month contracts 37 hours per week. Good transport links to the M4. Strong supportive manager and team. Flexible, hybrid working arrangements. £100 weekly travel and accommodation expenses will remain in place for all new and existing agency placements within Children's Social Care until 31 August 2026. Workers must reside more than 50 miles from Swindon.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced social worker in a busy Looked After Children's Team in Swindon. Your duties will include:
- Visiting children in care and care leavers
- Supporting young people
- Developing pathway plans
- Handling extremely complex cases with the assistance of the management team
Priority is given to maintaining close positive links with outside agencies and service providers within the community. Candidates must have the ability to build positive relationships with children and families, with good knowledge and experience of CLA processes. Ideally court experience. Multi-tasking, able to record accurate information on systems and reports, and the ability to work as part of a team is essential. It is essential that candidates have good communication and strong report writing skills.
