Experienced Social Worker required for work within the Family Safeguarding Team in Swindon. Competitive rates of pay 42ph, minimum 3 month contracts - 37 hours per week. Good transport links to the M4. Strong supportive manager and team. Flexible, hybrid working arrangements.
Swindon Borough Council has confirmed that the 100 weekly travel and accommodation expenses will remain in place for all new and existing agency placements within Children’s Social Care until 10 May 2026. Workers must reside more than 50 miles from Swindon.
Swindon Borough Council currently require Experienced Social Workers within the Family Safeguarding Service. The team work within pods to optimise the management, oversight and support to all Social Workers. There are 5 Social Workers and 1 Manager per POD.
Social Workers must have experience and skill to:
- Undertake comprehensive assessments including parenting assessments in a timely way to inform development of outcome focused care plans with Children and their Families.
- Undertake care proceedings within the court, both private and public.
- Initiate and complete within court timescales and achieve permanency plans for children including adoption.
- Understand and respond to complexity of risks and are required to evidence on records, including providing analysis of their interventions with children and families.
You will be Social Work England registered.
