Peterborough City Council is currently seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Assessment Service on a hybrid working basis.

Location: Sand Martin House (Hybrid)

Rate: £40.00 per hour (Umbrella)

Working Pattern: Team operates on a three-week duty rota. When on duty, social workers must work in the office. Off-duty weeks allow focus on ongoing casework.

About the Role:

  • Investigating concerns and assessing risks and protective factors
  • Conducting home visits and direct work with children and families
  • Ensuring the child's voice is central to all assessments and planning
  • Completing Section 17 Single Assessments and Section 47 Enquiries
  • Attending Initial Child Protection Conferences and Child in Need meetings
  • Preparing Section 7 reports for private law proceedings when required

The team benefits from strong support, including:

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification – Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving licence and access to own vehicle
