Southampton City Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our Duty and Looked After Children / Children in Care (LAC/CIC) Team. This role focuses on supporting children and young people who are in care, ensuring they experience stability, safety, and the best possible outcomes.
Pay rate - £39ph. 37 hours per week, 3 month minimum contract with options to extend. Flexible, hybrid working arrangements. There is also an expectation to be in the office around 2 - 3 days a week and be available to support duty social workers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of children and young people in care
- Complete statutory visits, assessments, and care planning
- Support care planning, permanency planning, and pathway planning
- Prepare high-quality reports for reviews and meetings
- Ensure the voice of the child is central to all decision-making
You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car and able to reside and work in the UK.
