Eden Brown Synergy is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Social Worker / Children's Social Worker to join the First Response Team at Leicestershire County Council. This is an excellent part-time Senior Social Worker opportunity for an experienced Children's Social Worker looking for a flexible working pattern of 18.5 hours per week, across Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
The Role
As a Senior Social Worker within the First Response Team, you will play a key role in responding to referrals, assessing risk and safeguarding children and young people. You will be responsible for undertaking Children and Families Assessments, responding to safeguarding referrals, identifying levels of need and making professional recommendations regarding appropriate intervention. The role would suit an experienced Children's Social Worker, Senior Social Worker, MASH Social Worker, Referral and Assessment Social Worker or Safeguarding Social Worker with strong statutory children's social care experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and respond to children's social care referrals within the First Response Team.
- Undertake Child and Family Assessments and gather information from children, families and partner agencies.
- Assess and manage risk and safeguarding concerns.
- Make informed professional decisions regarding thresholds, intervention and escalation.
- Undertake statutory social work assessments in line with relevant legislation and local authority procedures.
- Work closely with MASH, safeguarding, police, education, health and other multi-agency professionals.
- Develop effective working relationships with children, young people, parents and carers.
- Ensure the voice of the child remains central to assessment and decision-making.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure statutory recording requirements are met.
- Identify appropriate support, services and interventions for children and families.
- Contribute to safeguarding planning and multi-agency decision-making.
- Manage competing priorities effectively within a fast-paced First Response / Referral and Assessment environment.
- Promote positive outcomes for children and young people while ensuring safeguarding remains a priority.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- A recognised Social Work qualification.
- Current Social Work England (SWE) registration.
- Significant experience working within Children's Social Care.
- Strong experience in First Response, MASH, Referral & Assessment, Safeguarding, CIN or Child Protection.
