Childrens Social Worker role in the Emergency Duty Team The Trafford Emergency Duty Team are looking for enthusiastic candidates to join the team on a 3 month basis. All successful candidates will join the supportive team to assist in delivering Trafford's statutory responsibilities outside of normal working hours, receiving regular supervision and support from the EDT Management Team and on-call arrangements. This opportunity is suitable for experienced Social Workers who have the skillset and confidence to work with families during times in which day services are closed. This role includes providing emergency safeguarding advice, assessment and at times intervention to key partners and family's relating to children's safeguarding. While on duty you will be responding to and managing any emergency issues arising for children and families who may or may not be already known to services. Whilst on duty the successful candidate will need to have experience in recognising the need for strategy meetings and undertaking of s47 enquiry. There may be situations while on duty that require escalation to a manager for a decision, for example bringing a child or young person into care. There is always access to a Childrens Social Care Manager via an on-call rota to support decision-making when matters are escalating.
