Eden Brown are currently seeking a dedicated Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join the Young Refugee Team for Sheffield City Council.

About the Role: Sheffield City Council is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Young Refugee Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young refugees and asylum-seekers, providing tailored support, advocacy, and care. You will work with a diverse group of vulnerable young people, including unaccompanied minors, helping them adjust to life in the UK and access the support they need. As part of a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with various agencies to ensure the holistic well-being of the young refugees under your care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of young refugees to understand their needs, risks, and circumstances
  • Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to the needs of each young person
  • Provide direct support and advocacy to young refugees, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights upheld
  • Work closely with other social services, housing, education, and health services to provide comprehensive care
  • Ensure all case records are kept up-to-date and accurate, meeting legal and professional standards
  • Attend meetings, reviews, and conferences as required

Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent)
  • HCPC registration
  • Experience in working with children, young people, and families, with a preference for experience in the refugee or asylum sector
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage complex cases and work under pressure
  • A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and ensuring the well-being of young people

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
  • Social Work England Registration
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle
