Eden Brown are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Dog Grooming Lecturer for a Further Education College in West Yorkshire. This is a temporary part time role to start 9th February - 27th March, 21 hours per week.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced dog grooming professional who is passionate about teaching and supporting learners to develop practical and theoretical skills in the grooming industry. The successful candidate will deliver both practical and theory sessions, including practical assessments, ensuring learners achieve the standards required by the iPet awarding body.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging practical dog grooming sessions and theory lessons, including practical assessments
- Plan, assess, and review learning in line with iPet awarding body requirements and college policies
- Support and motivate learners to achieve their full potential
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and animal welfare within the grooming environment
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
- Engage in ongoing professional development and quality assurance activities
- Full Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming (iPet qualification essential)
- Professional experience: Minimum of 3 years' professional and practical dog grooming experience
- FE experience: Previous delivery within a Further Education setting
- Teaching qualification: PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
- CPD: Evidence of relevant professional updating and continuing professional development
- English and Maths: Literacy and numeracy at a minimum of Level 2
- Animal first aid qualification (beneficial but not mandatory)
- Experience working with a range of learner abilities and age groups
- Knowledge of current industry standards and awarding body requirements
- A learner-centred, inclusive approach to teaching
Candidates must have a current DBS.
