Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Fostering & Kinship Team within Surrey County Council. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social worker with strong knowledge of fostering, kinship care and safeguarding to support children, young people and their families, while working closely with carers and partner agencies.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a complex caseload involving fostering and kinship arrangements.
  • Completing assessments and providing ongoing support to foster and kinship carers.
  • Undertaking statutory social work duties, assessments, visits and reviews.
  • Supporting placement stability and identifying appropriate support packages.
  • Assessing risk and safeguarding children and young people.
  • Working closely with children, families, carers and multi-agency professionals.
  • Preparing high-quality assessments, reports and care plans.
  • Contributing to supervision, practice development and team discussions.
  • Supporting permanence planning and achieving positive outcomes for children.
  • Working in line with relevant legislation, policies and safeguarding procedures.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Current Social Work England (SWE) registration.
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience working in Social Work roles within a UK English Local Authority.
  • Strong experience within Children's Social Care, ideally with fostering and/or kinship services.
  • Experience undertaking complex assessments, safeguarding and statutory social work.
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and statutory guidance.
  • Excellent communication, report-writing and multi-agency working skills.
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload and work effectively within a busy team environment.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
