Senior Child Protection Social Worker – Wolverhampton Wolverhampton Council are seeking an experienced Senior Child Protection Social Worker / Lead Practitioner to join their high-performing safeguarding service. This is a specialist role managing high-risk unborns, PLO and court work, S47/CP plans and supporting children within the disabilities team. This is a challenging and rewarding position, requiring resilient, confident and tenacious practitioners with a deep understanding of thresholds and the ability to apply and challenge them appropriately. About the Role As a Lead Child Protection Practitioner, you will act as a recognised expert in the field of child protection, holding a caseload of high-risk and complex situations involving children at risk of significant harm. You will co-work with and support less experienced social workers, provide expert consultation to multi-agency partners, and play a key role in decision-making during safeguarding processes. You will lead on Section 47 enquiries, children subject to child protection plans, and pre-proceedings work as part of an allocated caseload.
